Chandelier Model T434 by Hans Agne Jakobsson, Sweden 1960s
This refined chandelier was designed in the 1960s by the Swedish designer Hans‑Agne Jakobsson
The chandelier is composed of two tiers. Fifteen slender cylinders of subtly smoked glass — each measuring approximately twenty-two centimetres in height — are placed over the light sources, gently diffusing the light and producing a calm, intimate illumination.
The lower tier features five gracefully extending arms, each supporting two luminaires. Above this, a second level with five additional light points creates a balanced, sculptural composition. The alternating placement of the arms introduces rhythm and movement, reflecting Jakobsson’s modern yet organic approach to design. Graceful proportions and a sensitivity to form are clearly present throughout the piece.
As in much of Jakobsson’s oeuvre, the chandelier combines brass and glass — materials that complement each other beautifully and lend the design its timeless elegance. The inside of the rose bears the Jakobsson wordmark, a mark of authenticity.
The lamp is in great condition and the wiring has been checked. There are some traces of use as can be expected by a lamp that is 60 years old.
