Iconic 'Libro' Chair by Gianni Pareschi, Grupo Dam for Busnelli, Italy 1970s

€9,000.00

When first unveiled, the Libro was considered a "transgressor" of culture. The idea of sitting on a "book" was seen as almost sacrilegious to some, but its avant-garde spirit quickly captured the world's imagination. It wasn't long before it was immortalized in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, cementing its status as an icon of 20th-century design.

The magic of the Libro lies in its interactive design. Built on a central metal "spine," the chair features ten upholstered wedges—or pages—that can be flipped back and forth.
By turning these pages, you aren't just adjusting a chair; you are editing your own comfort. You can raise the seat, lower the backrest, or find a completely unique reclining angle simply by flipping the cushions.
Every interaction offers a sense of play, transforming a simple act of sitting into a moment of creative exploration.

We bought this chair from the 1st owner in Sicily Italy. He bought the chair early 1970s and has been carefully looked after. It is still in great vintage condition except from some stains on one cushin and a repair on another one as shown on the last photos.
